Meditation on the Healing Properties of a Pretty View

BANGKOK -- Last night's sunset. View from my balcony.

I considered moving out of this little studio apartment.

But this view brings me so much joy, it's worth sacrificing having a bedroom. And it's just me in here.

Definitely takes the edge off, temporarily, the weight of uncertainty about how long I'll get to remain in Thailand and put off returning to the U.S.

I'm one week shy of eight months in the country. It's hilarious and surreal to think that the original plan was to MAYBE spend three weeks in Thailand.

So much for anyone's plans, amirite?!?
