1823 Tea Lounge, Bangkok
Afternoon tea today at the 1823 Tea Lounge by Ronnefeldt at Gaysorn Village in Bangkok.
I don't necessarily miss the kind of afternoon teas I've had in the past where they bring you more food than you could (or should) possibly eat. This was totally enough. (The photos don't show the entire spread. I mean, another scone would have been great but still.)
And like many things in Bangkok, this was not a full-on assault on the pocketbook. It was about $73 with a glass of bubbly -- that's tax and service included -- for two.
I haven't ruled out going to the Authors' Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental as featured on "Somebody Feed Phil", but it's FAR more expensive than today's. It's a much, much posher setting, however, and by the looks of the menu considerably more tasty bites.
Maybe I'll save that for my "Farewell to Thailand" tour...
