It Was Bound to Happen: A Bad, Bad, Bad Bangkok Meal

You know what time it is? Time for y’all to cancel this wack afternoon tea menu.

You know what time it is? Time for y’all to stop serving this really not good afternoon-tea menu.

There are meals you will always remember.

Then there are ones you can’t wait to forgot… like the afternoon tea tragedy today at the lovely St. Regis Bangkok Hotel.

(Such a lovely space did not deserve this!)

I’m sorry, Chef Aey, but your “Wonderland” was a dessert disaster.

Apparently, this guy took second place in an inaugural dessert competition. Man alive!

Sigh. It was so bad. It was roughly 25 percent savory and 75 percent cloyingly sweet. And EVERYTHING was the same texture: mush. From the balls of what-was-that-supposed-to-taste-like to each and every weirdly flavored sweet.

AND they had the nerve to bring something with smoke! Just burn it all down!

None of these plates pictured deserves a description. They are all soft and mostly tasteless. And sorry presentation as well. What am I? Four years old? I mean seriously, is that a #!$%^$&! RITZ cracker!?! Aaaaaggggggggghhhh!

I would like to reclaim my time for even photographing these. And those drinks weren’t even all that. Hmph!

I skipped lunch for this. I hate myself.
